💥Back Training Hack💥 • The meggings function as 1) draw for engagement so those who otherwise wouldn’t see this and can gain from the caption will now, and 2) to better illustrate the main cue. • The chest supported row and others like it are great back movements. To take your lower spinal extensors out of the movement set up in posterior pelvic tilt (see my butt tuck under right before I start the movement) and contract/brace your abdominal wall. This will keep you from extending at your lumbar spine/lower back as you row, focus on this especially as you fatigue. 💥Hamstring Hack💥 • Want to really, actually isolate your hamstrings? In order to do so you have to create something called active insufficiency of the muscles above and below the hamstrings that would otherwise “help.” • To do this contract your glutes as hard as you can and push your hips into the pad to posteriorly tilt your pelvis. Contract your calves by pointing your toes as if tip-toed (plantarflex). Now fully extend and flex your knee joint. • A good cue is basically thinking of your hamstrings as your biceps and “curling/contracting” them in the same fashion as hard as you can voluntarily each rep. Notice my thigh/femur looks as if it almost raises off the pad at the fully extended position, because it does. 💥Quadriceps Hack💥 • • Not to be confused with “hack” squat, but rather a helpful tip to target your quadriceps more. • In this variation of a split squat I am positioning my body (and movement)under the bar such that my torso stays vertical. I also have a bit closer of front foot placement which then causes more knee travel forward.
